Since Father Nicholas had been walking with us on Sunday, it had not been possible for him to celebrate mass, so that was the first order of the day for Monday. He joined Stanley Peng, the Evangelist looking after the Gundai area.

The one hymnal was shared by all of us. Many of the people knew the words of the English hymns by heart. We all gave thanks for the fine weather and for our safe passage the day before. Prayers were offered for the sick and for the troubled spots of the world.
